It is not clear where the traditions of Memorial Day began, but not long after the Civil War ended, several cities began holding tributes in the spring for the soldiers who fell during the war. People would honor the fallen by decorating their graves and praying.
Albert earned his wings on May 7, at home surrounded by his family. Albert was a caring and loving family man who devoted his time to his granddaughter’s hockey games. As he always said, “number 6 on the ice but number 1 in my heart.”
A solemn mnemonic to remember and honor those whom gave the ultimate sacrifice while in service in the defense of our great nation during conflict.
We salute you and rest in eternal peace.
We will not forget you.
